The way Millard describes it, Churchill was destined to lead his country through the second world war, and it almost (almost, cuz I don't believe in this kind of divine shepherding) seemed as though god's hand was protecting him until he could settled into the ultimate destiny for which he ws born.
Suffice it to say that Churchill comes off as THE man of destiny, while also incredibly privileged.
